Quercetin is a naturally occurring bioflavonoid compound. Bioflavonoids are compounds that give colour to fruits and vegetables, as well as red and rose coloured wines. Quercetin is found naturally in foods such as apples, onions, beans, green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits. It can also be found in black and green teas, red wines and red grape juices. Bromelain, a photolytic enzyme from pineapple, and magnesium are added to help support the body’s response to inflammation. Some research studies suggest a positive link between Quercetin intake and prostate function and health. Quercetin is commonly supplemented to aid in joint health and for seasonal changes.
